Julia Manning
Julia Manning joined the Concussion & CTE Foundation in 2018, bringing a strong background in broadcast journalism to the organization. At the Foundation, Julia is head of the communications team and has produced award-winning multimedia content, including a Telly Award–winning public service announcement and a Webby Honoree short documentary. She also hosts the Foundation’s podcast, Invisible Impact, highlighting the experiences of those affected by post-concussion syndrome (PCS).
Previously, Julia was a producer at KCCI-TV, the CBS affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, and KMBC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri, where she led coverage of major events and long-form storytelling initiatives. She is a four-time Emmy Award winner, including recognition for her work on a documentary examining the impact of concussions in sports.
Julia holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. A former competitive athlete who has experienced multiple concussions and PCS, she brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work.
