Averie Scarmardo

Averie Scarmardo joined the Concussion & CTE Foundation in July 2026 as Social Media Coordinator, bringing a background in communication and sports media to the organization’s digital presence and outreach efforts.

Averie graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2025 with a BS in Communication and a certificate in Communication Leadership and Conflict Management. During her time at Texas A&M, she worked as a Social Media Intern at TexAgs, a sports media company, where she merged her love of sports and social media, building skills in content strategy and audience engagement.

Averie has loved ones who have been affected by brain trauma, an experience that has given her a personal connection to the Concussion & CTE Foundation’s mission and fuels her commitment to raising awareness around concussions and CTE.

She currently resides outside of Houston, Texas. As a lifelong sports fan, you’ll find her watching anything from football, basketball, and baseball to golf, especially when it’s Texas A&M, the Houston Texans, or the Astros playing. She also enjoys traveling and finding new places to explore, taking photos, reading, and hanging out with friends and family.

Averie is excited to bring her passion for storytelling and community engagement to the Concussion & CTE Foundation and help spread further awareness, advocate for safer sports, and succeed in its mission to End CTE.
